Job summary

UNAVAILABLE is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to move materials and operate heavy machinery, including dump trucks and loaders. The role requires inspecting equipment and ensuring safe operation in outdoor conditions.

Responsibilities include attaching implements, steering and controlling equipment, and reporting incidents to supervision. The position carries no supervisory duties and may include additional duties as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or ten years heavy equipment operator experience will be considered.
• Minimum one year directly related experience required.
• Previous backhoe, dump truck, zoom boom, skid steer, excavator, and loader experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-use, monthly, quarterly and/or annual inspections for the equipment in which he/she will operate.
• Fastens attachments, such as graders, plows, and rollers, to tractor with hitch pins.
• Releases brake, shifts gears, and depresses accelerator or moves throttle to control forward and backward movement of tractor.
• Steers heavy equipment by turning steering wheel and depressing brake pedals.
• Immediately report all Incidents/Accidents, no matter how small, to their Supervisor.
• Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit’s success also may be assigned.
• This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
