Job summary

Sweeney is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to drive large-scale commercial site development across Connecticut. You will operate modern equipment including GPS‑ and satellite‑guided machines for site prep, utilities, paving, and demolition, with an emphasis on safety and quality workmanship.

This year‑round opportunity rewards experienced operators with ongoing training, equipment maintenance, and opportunities to work on major projects across the state.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of heavy equipment operating experience.
• Significant experience in commercial or civil site development.
• Active OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to CT sites.
• Ability to perform daily equipment inspections and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate bulldozers, excavators, payloaders, articulated trucks, and rock crushers.
• Perform grading, excavation, utilities, storm drainage, paving, and soil remediation.
• Coordinate with Superintendents and field leadership to maintain productivity and safety.
• Conduct pre-operation inspections and routine maintenance.
• Travel to assigned CT job sites and operate near active crews and utilities.
