Job summary

HRI, Inc. is hiring for a heavy equipment operator in a safety-sensitive role. You will perform manual labor and operate construction machinery to excavate, prepare, maintain, and repair civil and highway projects. The position is hourly, non-exempt, with potential for extended hours and night shifts.

Responsibilities include safe operation of equipment in live traffic, daily safety checks, and completion of paperwork. Prior heavy equipment experience and a valid license are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; heavy equipment operation training preferred.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• MSHA/Safeland training may be required or preferred.
• Experience operating heavy construction equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment safely to minimize injury, damage or environmental impact.
• Meet performance standards to qualify for Level 1 position.
• Operate equipment in live traffic and perform safety checks daily.
• Wear personal protective equipment and follow manuals.
• Assist with digging, pipe placement and related manual labor as assigned.
• Complete required reports and maintain equipment responsibly.
• Communicate with Equipment Manager and supervisors about problems.
• Work beyond 40 hours and flexible shifts including nights, Saturdays, Sundays.
