Description

Position: Heavy Equipment Operator-CDL Driver

Location: East Chicago, Indiana

Pay rate: Base Rate over $25.00, Project Specific Prevailing Wage rate opportunities, Full Benefits (Operating Engineers Local 150 Union)

Job Responsibilities

• Perform industrial maintenance work, including vacuuming industrial waste and/or materials (solids, sludge, and liquids) and other related duties.
• Operate and drive equipment for Roadway Division Crack Sealing projects.
• Set up and break down vacuum piping, hoses, and hydro-hose runs.
• Assist in establishing and implementing safety practices on a "per job" basis.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license required at the time of application; MVR check will be conducted.
• Pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
• Willing to obtain OSHA 10 Certification.
• Ability to work 40+ hours a week, including days, nights, weekends, and on call.
• Ability to travel out of town.
• Valid CDL A, B, Tanker, and Airbrake Endorsement for 3+ years.
• Hydro excavation, Vac truck, and tanker experience is a plus.
• Willingness to enter confined spaces for cleaning and inspection.
• Hazmat certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days.
