Job summary

Heidelberg Materials in the United States Pennsylvania region seeks a hands-on heavy equipment operator to support aggregate production. You will operate various machines, maintain stockpiles, and keep the plant and facilities clean while ensuring equipment stays in good working order.

You will participate in routine inspections and preventative maintenance, assist crew members, fuel and grease equipment, and complete related paperwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of heavy equipment operation or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 lbs and working in all climates and heights.
• Ability to work in environments with moving mechanical equipment and noise.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment of various sizes and weights used in the production of aggregates
• Maintain stockpiles of stone to ensure consistent production of asphalt
• Maintain housekeeping of plant and facilities
• Ensure equipment is in good working order
• Perform routine inspection and preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment if within abilities; accelerate issues that are not
• Routinely assist other members of the crew as needed, including shoveling and cleanup
• Fuel, oil and grease equipment to ensure proper function and completes associated paperwork
• Perform related job duties as assigned
