Job summary

Bell Lumber & Pole in New Brighton, MN is seeking a Mobile Equipment Operator to safely operate and maintain terminal equipment, loading and unloading customer products to rail cars or trucks.

This full-time, outdoor role requires a high school diploma and hands-on experience with Log Loaders, Front-End Loaders, and forklifts; compensation is $30.32 per hour with comprehensive benefits and a strong safety program.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience operating mobile equipment including Log Loaders and Front-End Loaders.
• Must be able to withstand extreme weather conditions; majority of time outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Operate mobile equipment such as Log Loaders and Front-End Loaders.
• Operate and maintain the listed equipment: Log Loaders, Front-End Loaders, Forklifts.
• Understand written documents for proper handling of customer products.
• Ensure safety rules and Bell Timber safety standards are followed.
• Start up, operate, and shut down equipment; perform basic troubleshooting.

The purpose of the Mobile Equipment Operator at our New Brighton, MN plant is to operate and maintain terminal equipment in a safe and efficient manner while unloading/loading customer’s products into/outof rail car, or truck.

Pay: $30.32 per hour

As a Mobile Equipment Operator, you will:

• Operate mobile equipment such as Log Loaders and Front-End Loaders.
• Operate and maintain the following equipment:
  • Log Loaders
  • Front-End Loaders
  • Forklifts
• Understand written documents for proper handling of the customers products.
• Understand basic safe use of shop tools.
• Ability to maintain communication with co-workers concerning their operational needs.
• Achieve and maintain a basic understanding of how all the operating systems function/interact and independently perform effective trouble shooting during equipment malfunctions.
• Startup and shutdown equipment.
• Learn to perform annual and other scheduled maintenance on equipment.
• Understand OSHA safety rules and work in compliance with the Bell Timber safety standards, policies, and procedures.
• Identify and report any and all unsafe working conditions.
• Ability to read and understand equipment startup procedures, operation procedures, shutdown procedures, and maintenance manuals.
• Perform all work in compliance with company standards and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Operating mobile equipment including Log Loaders and Front-End Loaders. Operations in log handling including long poles helpful. Must be able to withstand extreme weather conditions; majority of the time will be working outside.
