OVERVIEW

Archer Western is currently seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Elbow Rd. Project in Virginia Beach, VA.

The primary function is to operate a variety of Heavy Equipment at the site of work to construct, maintain, or repair highway, heavy civil, or building structures. Equipment operators are also expected to assist in other duties around the jobsite as needed and operate equipment in compliance with company safety policies and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Operate a variety of equipment to complete tasks such as clearing land, backfilling, and transporting materials like dirt, rocks, and other aggregates.
• Have knowledge of operating procedures related to loading and unloading materials.
• Perform maintenance on equipment, including oiling, greasing, and safety checks; complete documentation as required.
• Operate equipment that may produce vibration, jolts, loud noises, and other physical effects.
• Perform other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 3-5 years of operating experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in adverse weather conditions.
• Ability to follow safety policies and communicate effectively with team members.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Good manual dexterity; ability to stand, bend, kneel, or sit for extended periods.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
