Role Description

The Heavy Equipment Operator is a full-time, on-site role based in San Carlos, AZ. This position is responsible for safely operating a variety of heavy equipment on civil construction projects, including grading, excavation, and site preparation activities. Day-to-day tasks include inspecting and operating equipment, following site plans and directions from supervisors, and maintaining safe working conditions in accordance with company and regulatory standards. The operator will work closely with field crews to complete tasks such as trenching, earthmoving, and backfilling, and will assist with routine equipment checks and basic maintenance to ensure optimal performance. The role may also involve supporting material handling, loading and unloading, and contributing to job site cleanliness and organization.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Equipment Operation and Heavy Equipment handling, with experience on machinery commonly used in civil construction.
• Knowledge of Excavation practices and safe digging techniques, including trenching, grading, and earthmoving.
• Ability to perform basic Equipment Maintenance, including inspections, minor repairs, and reporting mechanical issues promptly.
• Experience working with Used Equipment, including understanding of wear, performance limitations, and safe operation procedures.
• Commitment to safety practices, including adherence to OSHA guidelines and company safety policies.
• Ability to read and follow construction plans, grades, and instructions from supervisors and site managers.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in varying weather and site conditions.
• Previous experience as a heavy equipment operator in civil construction or related fields; relevant certifications or operator licenses are preferred.
• Reliable transportation to the San Carlos, AZ job site and availability for full-time work schedules, including occasional overtime as needed.
