The Role

We seek an experienced and dependable Heavy Equipment Operator to support fuel tank installation projects, involving site preparation, equipment operation, and fueling system installation. The candidate should have extensive experience with heavy machinery, shoring systems, piping, concrete work, and grading, and be willing to travel to different sites with a strong work ethic and adherence to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment like excavators, loaders, telehandlers, forklifts, skid steers, etc.
• Install and maintain trench safety and shoring systems per OSHA standards
• Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and grade stakes
• Set and maintain grades using laser levels or similar tools
• Assist with concrete forming, pouring, and finishing
• Support underground and above-ground piping and fuel system installations
• Perform equipment checks and report issues
• Record job details such as labor hours and materials
• Follow safety procedures and wear PPE
• Travel frequently to various job sites, including overnight stays

Qualifications

• 3–5 years experience operating heavy construction equipment
• Experience installing shoring and setting/reading grades
• Ability to read construction plans and blueprints
• Knowledge of concrete forming and finishing
• Experience with fuel or utility piping is a plus
• Willingness to travel and stay on-site for extended periods
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred
