Job summary

Harsco Environmental is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to support daily operations at our steel/metal recovery plant. You will run loaders, excavators, skid steer, heavy trucks and cranes as part of our on-site team.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, 1–3 years of operator experience, the ability to work outdoors in varying weather, and a commitment to safety and teamwork. We offer competitive benefits including health and life insurance and 401(k) with company matching.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years experience as equipment operator.
• Ability to do manual labor in an outdoor environment that may include elevated areas and extreme weather conditions.
• Good communications skills, and the ability to read operating instructions.
• Proactive in SAFETY and works well in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment at a steel/metal recovery plant (loaders, excavators, skid steer, heavy duty trucks, cranes).

This position is responsible for day to day Heavy Equipment Operation activities at a steelmetal recovery plant. Running equipment such as loaders, excavators, skidsteer, heavy duty trucks, cranes. Duties include but not limited to:

• A. Performs routine mobile equipment pre start and post inspections and records activity on inspection sheets.
• B. Follows all plant safety guidelines for the safe operations of heavy mobile equipment.

Basic Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. 1 - 3 year’s experience as a equipment operator.
3. Ability to do manual labor in an outdoor environment that may include elevated areas and extreme weather conditions.
4. Good communications skills, and the ability to read operating instructions.
