Job summary

Venture Metals + in Houston is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to support the plant's daily operations. The role involves loading and unloading scrap metal and operating equipment such as grapple, forklift, skid steer, and excavator.

You will work outdoors in all weather, adhere to safety requirements, and help maintain logs and maintenance records.

Qualifications

• Some experience operating Grapple crane, forklift, skid steer and excavator operation / maintenance experience (helpful).
• Scrap metal/waste experience is a plus, but not necessary.

Venture Metals +is a fast-growing, metal recycling company looking to grow its operations team withHeavy Equipment Operator at our Houston Plant.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Load and unload scrap metal materials with Grapple, forklift, or skid-steers.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently required to stand; climb; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Outdoor position (under roofing) in all-weather environments: rain, snow, hot, cold
• Could be exposed to dust, fumes, high noise levels.
• PPE will be required for all employees. PPE includes safety glasses, hard hat, high visibility vest, ear plugs, gloves, steel/composite toed shoes or boots.
• Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment, work outdoors & exposed to all weather elements.
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
