Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, 1+ years of relevant experience, and a valid US driver's license. Dozer and excavator experience is preferred, with a strong commitment to safety and performance.

Responsibilities

• Participate in safety programs and training, promoting Martin Marietta's Guardian Angel culture
• Inspect equipment for signs of wear
• Perform basic maintenance on heavy mobile equipment
• Work in a team environment
• Clean work areas
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
• Proper wear of personal protective equipment
• Notify supervisors of repairs needed
• Ensure materials are properly loaded according to safety requirements
• Assist in plant maintenance and repairs
• Perform duties with minimum supervision

Description Pay: $23-$26 an hour Hours: 6am-6pm Monday - Friday

Job Summary

Martin Marietta is currently looking for a Heavy Equipment Operator at our Eudora Quarry in Eudora, KS. This position is responsible for safely operating heavy equipment to move material within the plant.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Participate in safety programs and training, promoting Martin Marietta's Guardian Angel culture
• Inspect equipment for signs of wear
• Perform basic maintenance on heavy mobile equipment
• Work in a team environment
• Clean work areas
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions

Skills

• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Knowledge of MSHA regulations
• Effective verbal communication
• Knowledge of machines and tools including their design, use and maintenance

Physical Abilities

Ability to work in an outdoor environment year-round. General physical activities include climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, reach with hands and arms, and handling material.
