Costello Construction is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator for a full-time, on-site role in Dover, Delaware. You will operate a variety of contractor equipment and trucks used in construction, maintenance, and repair activities and support the field crew with digging, hoisting, and material handling.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED and at least four years of experience with medium and heavy equipment, including projects of substantial size.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator for a full time position. The heavy equipment operator operates a variety of contractor equipment and trucks used in construction, maintenance and repair activities and performs a variety of tasks The heavy equipment operator will be responsible for: operating trucks and construction or power equipment, such as mechanized broom, backhoe, man-lift, dump truck, excavators, road grater, front-end loader, hydraulic excavators, skid steers and jetter/inductor trucks; working with and assisting the field crew in digging ditches and trenches, hoisting material, tools, equipment, and any related work with a backhoe, road grater or front-end loader; Performing routine inspections on assigned equipment and refering defects or repairs to the supervisor; cleaning equipment; performing all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.

The employee must frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
