Amrize North America Inc. is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to work on projects in Canon City, CO.

You will operate dozers, loaders, excavators, haul trucks and other large equipment used for paving or moving earth and materials, with daily inspections to maintain safety and efficiency. The role requires at least one year of related experience, the ability to read and write, and a strong safety orientation.

• One year of related experience or an equivalent education/experience.

• Valid driver’s license preferred or required.
• Strong safety orientation and adherence to safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Operate dozers, loaders, excavators, haul trucks or other heavy equipment on paving or moving earth tasks.
• Conduct daily inspections of equipment and keep it clean and safe.
• Load materials and assist with material handling and site duties as needed.
• Maintain equipment appearance and proper fluid levels; perform minor repairs as needed.
• Complete paperwork and assist with other duties as required.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Operates dozers, loaders, excavators, haul trucks or other types of large equipment used for paving or moving, grading and compacting earth, sand, gravel, stone and/or asphalt materials. Conducts routine daily inspections of equipment and maintains equipment in a clean and safe manner.

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

• Operate various heavy equipment in order to loads trucks, feeds bins with various aggregate materials, maintain proper quantities of material to be loaded.
• Maintain equipment: Keeps equipment clean and orderly.
• Safety: Performs daily inspections on equipment to ensure safe operation.
• Ensures that safety, compliance, environmental requirements are followed at all times.
• Load material into bins, into crusher, into trucks or into plant. Moves earth or other materials from one location to another.
• Performs visual and safety inspection of equipment.
• May maintain appearance of equipment, proper air pressure in tires, proper fluid levels or perform minor repairs as needed
• Completes are paperwork that may be necessary; assists with other duties required

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Minimum of one year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Flexibility to work extended shifts and varying schedules as needed
• Ability to read and write.
• Excellent driving skills
• Strong safety-orientation
• Licenses Preferred: Valid driver’s license required
• Required Computer and Software Skills: Basic proficiency computer and systems skills
