Job summary

Harsco Environmental is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to handle day-to-day operations at a steel/metals recovery plant. You will operate loaders, excavators, skid steers, heavy trucks, and cranes, while performing routine inspections and adhering to safety protocols.

The role requires 1–3 years of equipment operator experience, strong communication, and a proactive safety mindset. Outdoor work in varying weather and elevations is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years’ experience as an equipment operator.
• Ability to do manual labor outdoors in varying weather and elevations.
• Good communication skills and ability to read operating instructions.
• Proactive in safety and works well in a team environment.

Job Description

This position is responsible for day to day Heavy Equipment Operation activities at a steelmetal recovery plant. Running equipment such as loaders, excavators, skidsteer, heavy duty trucks, cranes. Duties include but not limited to:

• A. Performs routine mobile equipment pre start and post inspections and records activity on inspection sheets.
• B. Follows all plant safety guidelines for the safe operations of heavy mobile equipment.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• 1. High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2. 1 - 3 year’s experience as a equipment operator.
• 3. Ability to do manual labor in an outdoor environment that may include elevated areas and extreme weather conditions.
• 4. Good communications skills, and the ability to read operating instructions.
• 5. Proactive in SAFETY and works well in a team environment.
