Job description

Position Title: Heavy Equipment Operator

Pay: $23–$25/hour (Based on Experience)

Shift: Monday–Friday, Night Shift | 5:30 PM – 3:30 AM (Possible 10–11 hour shifts, Monday–Saturday)

Location: Broken Arrow, OK

Job Type: Temp to Hire

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team in Broken Arrow. After completing company certifications, you will operate heavy yard equipment (up to 55,000 pounds) to move materials safely and efficiently with moderate supervision.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Use sound judgment regarding safety procedures; request assistance when necessary

• Safely operate facility equipment, including forklifts with lift capacities ranging from 2,500 lbs to 55,000 lbs

• Load and unload freight, moving materials to and from the shop and yard

• Follow all HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) guidelines and safety regulations

• Remain aware of yard conditions and maintain safe movement of materials

• Perform daily equipment inspections and basic preventive maintenance

• Remove and properly dispose of trash and scrap metal

• Organize and clean yard areas as required

• Operate man-lifts and assist with heavy equipment lifting and moving

• Inspect equipment for completion and/or damage, reporting findings to Lead

• Assist with equipment preparation for shipping

• Operate computers and office equipment for documentation purposes as needed

Required Experience and Skills

• Minimum 3 years of experience with equipment operation

• Familiarity with OSHA regulations

• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

• Comfortable working at heights up to 25 feet

• Strong ability to bend, squat, climb, stoop, twist, reach, and sit for extended periods

• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and carrying objects up to 25 lbs frequently

• Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Working Conditions

• Physical activities include standing 25% and sitting 75% of the time

• Frequent bending, squatting, climbing, twisting, and reaching required

• Must communicate effectively in-person and via phone, including mobile devices

• Must wear all required PPE, including fire-retardant clothing, helmets, face shields, hearing protection, safety goggles, and steel-toed boots
