Job Summary

Position Summary QLM IS Seeking three skilled Heavy Equipment Operators for a temporary project in the Abilene, Texas area. The assignment is expected to last approximately 1–3 months, with per diem provided as necessary. Operators will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating heavy construction and agricultural equipment to support site preparation, grading, material handling, hauling, and related project activities.

Pay Range

$26.00-35.00per hr

Position Description

The Heavy Equipment Operator will operate assigned equipment safely and efficiently in support of construction and site-development activities. Responsibilities may include excavation, grading, dozing, loading, hauling, compacting, watering, and material handling.

Operators are expected to perform daily equipment inspections, identify and report mechanical or safety issues, follow project plans and site instructions, maintain a safe work environment, and operate equipment within manufacturer and company guidelines.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated field experience with the equipment listed above, a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain productivity while meeting all safety requirements.

Skills Desired
  • Proven experience operating heavy construction and agricultural equipment
  • Proficient operation of CAT 320 Excavator
  • Proficient operation of John Deere 720J Dozer
  • Proficient operation of Komatsu 320-5L Wheeled Loader
  • Experience operating Case IH 9250 Tractor with grader blade, dump wagon, or water wagon
  • Experience operating John Deere 850 Dozer with SmartGrade
  • Experience operating a 66-inch Drum Roller
  • Strong understanding of equipment safety and daily inspection procedures
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a field crew
  • Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work varying schedules as project needs require
