Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals, Inc. is seeking a Machine Intelligence Analyst to turn telematics data from pumps, vehicles and equipment into actionable insights. You will build AI/ML models to improve the performance, safety and efficiency of our heavy equipment fleet.

The role leverages sensor data, CAN bus, Modbus, GPS, and dashboards to drive predictive maintenance, fuel savings and operational optimization, with reporting and alerting for proactive management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in data science, Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• Domain knowledge in heavy civil construction or mining is desirable.
• Strong problem-solving and the ability to communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience developing AI/ML models for predictive maintenance.
• Ability to analyze machine utilization and optimize assets and costs.
• Experience with dashboard reporting and alerting for real-time insights.

Responsibilities

• Predictive Maintenance & Diagnostics: analyze sensor data to predict equipment failure and reduce downtime.
• Telematics & Data Engineering: extract and analyze data from CAN bus, Modbus, GPS in real time.
• Performance Optimization: develop AI/ML models to improve fuel efficiency and workflows.
• Automated Reporting & Alerting: build dashboards and proactive alerts for operators/managers.
• Safety & Compliance Monitoring: use ML to flag risky operator behaviors and ensure standards.
