Job summary

The League of Minnesota Cities is seeking an Equipment Maintenance Technician I to perform skilled maintenance and repair of heavy equipment. You will inspect machines for maintenance needs, plan appropriate work, and operate the needed tools and equipment to keep fleet assets in good working order.

Required qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, Minnesota Class A CDL with six-months to obtain, and DOT Vehicle Inspector and EPA HVAC Refrigerant Recovery certifications or timelines

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must hold a Minnesota Class A CDL or obtain within six months of employment, costs covered.
• Must hold DOT Vehicle Inspector Certification or obtain within nine months, costs covered.
• Must hold EPA HVAC Refrigerant Recovery Certification or obtain within nine months, costs covered.
• Prefer nine-month vo-tech training certificate in automotive/heavy equipment/small engine repair.
• Preference for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled work in preventative maintenance and mechanical repair of heavy equipment.
• Inspect machines for maintenance needs and determine appropriate maintenance, repair or replacement.
• Operate applicable tools and equipment to support maintenance tasks.
