Job summary

Stephenson Equipment, Inc. is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic at our Manassas, VA location to diagnose, repair and maintain construction machinery and components.

You will read manuals and schematics, perform welding and subassembly work, and ensure equipment meets manufacturer specifications. Strong candidates have a high school diploma or GED, relevant technical training, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs with occasional lifts up to 100 lbs with crane assistance.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required; technical schooling a plus.
• Familiarity with heavy equipment diagnostics and welding.
• Ability to read operating manuals, blueprints and drawings.
• Willingness to comply with safety procedures and use PPE.

Responsibilities

• Repair and replace damaged or worn parts on heavy equipment.
• Diagnose faults using engine diagnostic equipment and manuals.
• Operate and inspect machines to identify defects and performance issues.
• Perform routine maintenance, lubrication, and preventative tasks.
• Dismantle and reassemble equipment using hand tools, hoists, and cranes.
