Job summary

Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. seeks a Mechanic Intern to join the Equipment team in Springdale, AR. Gain hands-on experience diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing heavy equipment, trucks, and trailers under experienced mentors.

You will participate in preventative maintenance, document activities, and learn safety/regulatory requirements while contributing to team goals and future opportunities within the company.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a relevant degree or technical program, or high school diploma/equivalent with strong interest in the field.
• Basic understanding of mechanical systems, tools, and equipment is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to a fast-paced, hands-on setting.
• Eagerness to learn and a proactive attitude.
• Comfortable working in outdoor/field and shop environments.
• Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance Support: Assist mechanics with routine maintenance and repair work on company equipment, including heavy equipment, trucks, and trailers.
• Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Observe and participate in diagnosing equipment issues, learning to identify problems and develop solutions under the guidance of experienced staff.
• Preventative Maintenance: Help perform preventative maintenance tasks to support optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime.
• Documentation: Assist in maintaining equipment-related reports, maintenance logs, and metrics.
• Compliance & Safety: Learn and follow safety procedures and regulatory requirements related to equipment operation and maintenance.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with mechanics, equipment managers, and field staff to support equipment division goals.
• Process Improvement: Participate in identifying opportunities to improve maintenance and repair processes.
