Job summary

PADNOS is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic I to keep our recycling equipment running safely and efficiently. You will perform preventative maintenance and basic repairs on loaders, excavators, skid steers, forklifts, cranes, balers, conveyors, and mobile processing equipment.

The ideal candidate has 1-3 years of heavy equipment maintenance experience, vocational or technical training in heavy equipment or diesel technology, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of heavy equipment maintenance experience.
• Vocational or technical training in heavy equipment or diesel technology.
• Strong mathematical and mechanical aptitude.
• Comfort working outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on heavy equipment.
• Change fluids, filters, tracks, belts, and wear components.
• Assist with repairs to hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Identify equipment issues and communicate findings to senior technicians.
• Operate heavy equipment for testing and inspection purposes.
• Maintain service records and work orders.
• Keep work areas clean and compliant with safety regulations.
• Assist with field repairs and emergency breakdown response.
• Follow lockout/tagout and company safety procedures.
