Job summary

PADNOS in the United States is seeking a Diesel Mechanic I to perform inspections, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on diesel-powered equipment. You will support safe and efficient operations by maintaining semi-tractors, trailers, heavy equipment, and other systems.

Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, completing service, and documenting work orders; you will use tools and shop software, assist senior technicians, and follow OSHA and DOT safety standards.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of diesel mechanic or fleet maintenance experience.
• Experience with air brakes and hydraulic systems preferred.
• Be over 18 years of age; pre-employment drug screen and physical.
• Welding and torching knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance services on diesel trucks, trailers, and fleet vehicles.
• Complete oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, brake inspections, and fluid checks.
• Assist with diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, air brake systems, suspension systems, and electrical components.
• Conduct safety inspections and document repair findings accurately.
• Replace basic mechanical components including belts, hoses, batteries, lights, and brake components.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment.
• Respond to road calls or minor field service repairs as assigned.
• Follow OSHA, DOT, and company safety standards.
• Accurately complete work orders and maintenance records using shop software systems.
• Support senior technicians on larger repairs and rebuild projects

Position Summary

Our Diesel Mechanic I are responsible for performing inspections, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on a wide range of diesel-powered equipment and machinery. This position supports safe and efficient operations by maintaining semi-tractors, trailers, heavy equipment, and other mechanical systems. The Diesel Mechanic I diagnoses mechanical issues, repairs hydraulic and electrical systems, completes required documentation, and ensures equipment is operating properly and in compliance with safety standards.

Schedule

• Monday - Friday
• 6:00 am - 4:00 pm
