Job summary

Hualapai Nsn seeks a Mechanic to support the HDOT/ Road Maintenance Program by repairing and performing preventive maintenance on automotive, specialized vehicles, and construction equipment, including heavy‑duty trucks, excavators, and loaders. The position requires ASE certification (or a plan to obtain within 1–2 years), 3–10 years of heavy equipment/diesel experience, and a valid driver's license.

This is a full-time, non-exempt role with standard safety requirements and potential on-call

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Must be ASE certified OR have a plan to obtain ASE certification within 1–2 years of hire.
Heavy equipment/diesel mechanic experience: 3–10 years preferred.
Must submit to pre-employment and random drug/alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

Repair and perform maintenance on automotive, specialized vehicles, and construction equipment (including heavy-duty trucks, excavators, bulldozers, and loaders).
Track vehicle usage, coordinate maintenance schedules, monitor costs, and recommend upgrades.
Oversee and maintain tribal fleet fuel dispensing system and fuel records.
Respond to emergency road repair/service within 30 minutes and during off-hours as required.
Perform welding and maintain accurate vehicle records in iWorQs.
