Job summary

Idaho Materials & Construction, a CRH Company, is seeking a skilled mechanic to repair and maintain construction and heavy equipment such as dozers, excavators, and trucks. The role requires 5 years of experience with Komatsu/CAT equipment, a valid driver's license, and strong safety awareness.

The position emphasizes hands-on repair duties, preventive maintenance, and accurate documentation of parts and invoices. Work is field-based with standard shifts and a focus on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5 years of experience as a skilled automotive mechanic, including heavy-duty construction equipment experience (Komatsu and CAT).
• Must have a current and valid driver's license.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots problems, making economical and durable repairs.
• Dismantles devices to access and remove defective parts using hoists and hand tools.
• Maintains and repairs heavy equipment, trucks, shop, and non-mobile equipment on a company-wide basis.
• Performs preventative maintenance: oil changes, greasing, fluid adds, filter changes.
• Repairs electrical and hydraulic systems, engines, transmissions, and drive trains.
• Orders parts and maintains purchase orders and invoices; uses computer for job functions.
• Repairs or replaces defective parts and tests performance.
• Welds broken parts and maintains a clean work area.
