Job summary

Army National Guard Units is seeking a SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC (T32) in Cullman, AL. You will troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul heavy-duty vehicles and equipment, including engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems, using a wide range of diagnostic tools and OEM manuals.

You will lead or assist teams in maintenance activities, perform readiness inspections, and ensure work complies with safety, technical manuals, and policies. A Secret clearance is required for this National Guard role.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.
• Ability to read and follow manuals, work orders, and maintenance bulletins.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and repairs heavy-duty equipment including engines and transmissions.
• Disassembles and reassembles engines and major assemblies.
• Performs preventive maintenance and inspections on vehicles and equipment.
• Provides technical guidance to lower grade mechanics and may lead a team in the field.
• Operates diagnostic tools to determine causes of failures and documents results.
• May perform field and sustainment maintenance at unit locations.
