Job summary

Plastic Express is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to diagnose and repair forklifts, rail kings, yard jockey trucks, aerial lifts, and related heavy equipment across our facilities.

The role requires hands-on mechanical skills, ability to read repair manuals, and experience with hydraulic and electrical systems. ASE certification is preferred; a valid driver’s license is required, and overtime or weekend work may be necessary.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience as Forklift and Diesel Engine Mechanic.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate forklifts.
• ASE Certification or related diesel mechanic certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment (forklifts, rail kings, yard jockey trucks, aerial lifts, golf carts, chassis trailers).
• Utilize diagnostics to identify issues and align components for performance.
• Inspect equipment for safety compliance and maintenance standards.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems; repair as needed.
• Maintain records of repairs, parts used, and service performed.
