Job summary

Longhorn Energy and Transportation is seeking a highly skilled Heavy Equipment Shop Mechanic to join our maintenance team. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain excavators, cranes, tractors, and other heavy machinery to keep our fleet productive and safe.

You will perform electrical, hydraulic, and diesel engine diagnostics, fabricate parts when needed, weld as required, and use OEM manuals to ensure OEM specifications are met. Safe operation of heavy equipment is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience as heavy equipment mechanic or service technician in a dealership or industrial setting.
• Familiarity with OEM parts catalogs and schematics for diagnostics and repairs.
• Proficient in electrical diagnostics, diesel engine repair, brake repair, tire service, welding and hydraulics.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy machinery including excavators, cranes, bulldozers, loaders, and tractors.
• Perform diagnostics across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and control systems.
• Fabricate parts or components as needed per OEM specifications; weld and use hand tools.
• Troubleshoot electrical wiring, sensors, switches, and control modules.
