North Slope Borough is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to perform daily inspections, preventive maintenance and repairs on a range of heavy equipment. You will diagnose problems, operate diagnostic tools, and fabricate components as needed.

The role requires a valid U.S. driver’s license with CDL within a year, adherence to DOT safety regs, and the ability to work in varied conditions across borough villages. Five years of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Five years of work experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or NSB trainee ladder.

Responsabilités

• Perform daily inspections, fueling, fluid checks, lighting, tires and startup safety inspections.
• Schedule and perform routine preventive maintenance.
• Repair electrical, drive train, suspension, engine, hydraulic systems.
• Troubleshoot drivability issues and diagnose equipment faults.
• Operate diagnostic tools and hand tools; weld and fabricate as needed.
• Maintain records and reports; participate in safety meetings.
• Travel to North Slope Borough villages as required.
