Best Equipment Inc. in Jackson, Michigan is seeking an experienced Cat Rebuild Technician to perform full teardowns, inspections, and rebuilds of Caterpillar landfill compactors, dozers, and related equipment. This is hands-on shop work close to home with steady, skilled tasks.

You will diagnose engines, hydraulics, and powertrains, follow OEM specs, and document findings for the team. Reliable, safety-minded candidates with Cat experience are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Experience as a heavy-equipment or diesel mechanic, ideally with Caterpillar machines.
• Cat-certified or rebuild experience strongly preferred.
• Strong diagnostic skills across engines, hydraulics, and powertrains.

• A reliable, safety-minded teammate who takes ownership of their work.

Best Equipment Inc. is a Michigan-based specialist in buying, selling, and rebuilding heavy construction and landfill equipment. We run a certified rebuild program for Caterpillar landfill compactors and dozers, using 100% Caterpillar OEM parts and holding every project to strict performance and durability standards. Our shop is led by a manager with more than 40 years in the industry, and demand for our rebuilt machines consistently exceeds supply.

We are growing our shop in Jackson, Michigan and looking for an experienced heavy-equipment mechanic to join us.

The Role

As a Cat Rebuild Technician, you will perform full teardowns, inspections, and rebuilds of Caterpillar landfill compactors, dozers, and related earthmoving equipment. This is hands-on shop work for someone who takes pride in doing the job right and wants steady, skilled work close to home.

What You Will Do
