Job description

Position: Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Location: Fort Worth, TX

Position Summary

Plan, layout, install, test, and repair all types of construction equipment in accordance with plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. Ensure all equipment operates efficiently, safely, and complies with the company Preventative Maintenance Program.

Experience Level: Intermediate

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

1. Read and understand plans and specifications, including Operator's Manuals.
2. Use hand and power tools for repairs and maintenance.
3. Document equipment condition and set up regular service and inspection schedules.
4. Organize reference materials, equipment files, and schedules.
5. Evaluate certification requirements such as for cranes and commercial vehicles.
6. Assist operators with Daily Walkaround Reports.
7. Generate accurate Equipment Locator reports.
8. Ensure safe fueling and oiling of equipment.
9. Prepare equipment for the next assignment and document with Off-Hire Reports.

Qualifications

1. High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience preferred.
2. Knowledge and skills related to the position.
3. Ability to follow written and oral instructions and communicate effectively.
4. Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and layout tools safely and efficiently.

Requirements

1. Ability to use ladders, mechanical platforms, manlifts, scaffolds (may exceed 200 feet).
2. Work in confined, cluttered, and uneven environments.
3. Lift and move items up to 50 pounds.
4. Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
5. Move about construction sites, capable of standing, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
