Job summary

Wheeler Machinery Co. in Ogden, UT is hiring a full-time Heavy Equipment Lube Technician/Field Maintenance Technician to perform in-field preventive maintenance on CAT and non-CAT equipment. You will focus on fluids, filters, greases and related tasks with safety and accuracy at the forefront.

Expect a swing shift with overtime and weekend work as needed. Applicants should have at least 1 year of experience, own tools, a clean MVR and be able to travel to customer sites as required.

Qualifications

• Requires at least 1 year experience as a Lube Technician on CAT or Non-CAT heavy equipment.
• Safety-oriented and able to follow Wheeler safety programs.

• Own tools to perform services; willing to obtain MSHA certification if needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled Preventative Maintenance (PM) on CAT and non-CAT equipment in the field.
• Replace fluids, filters, grease and related items on machinery.
• Operate in swing shift; willing to work overtime or weekends.
• Drive safely to job sites and communicate with customers and dealers.
• Conduct electronic inspections and know basic machine functions and maintenance.

Wheeler Machinery Co. is seeking to hire a full-time Heavy Equipment Lube Technician/Field Maintenance Technician in their Ogden, UT location to provide efficient, clean and on-time preventative maintenance services for CAT and Non-CAT equipment in the field. Attention to safety, maintaining cleanliness, following set procedures and taking care in their work is what sets us apart from the competition.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled Preventative Maintenance (PM) Services on CAT and non-CAT equipment in the field.
• Services primarily include the changing of compartment fluids, filters, grease and similar related items on machinery.
• Scheduled period of work will be swing shift.
• Must be willing to work overtime or weekends if needed.
• Must be able to drive safely and obey all traffic laws.
• Use computer, smartphone and other technology for customer and dealer communication.
• Perform electronic inspections on all scheduled PM Services.
• Must be knowledgeable with basic machine functions, maintenance and operation.
• Parts ordering as required per job.

Required Qualifications

• At least 1 year experience as a Lube Technician working on CAT or Non-CAT Heavy Equipment.
• Is Always Safe and Safety Oriented and will abide by Wheeler Safety Programs.

• Provide own tools to perform services.
• Must have or be willing to obtain MSHA certification.
• Must have a clean MVR (motor vehicle report).
• Knowledge of Preventative Maintenance Services on heavy construction equipment.
• Good computer and organizational skills. Adapts well to new technology.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior Field / PM Service Experience.
• Knowledge of Contamination Control and how to take a clean fluid sample.
• Knowledge of Heavy Equipment.
• Knowledge of DBS, SIS and VisionLink a plus.
• CDL License (class B with tanker endorsement)
