Job summary

Hall County is seeking a Heavy Equipment Service Technician in Gainesville to perform semi-skilled lubrication, fueling and servicing of heavy construction equipment, trucks and generators at the Landfill and Recycling operations.

The candidate should have a High School diploma or GED with auto mechanics coursework and at least one year of equipment maintenance experience, plus a valid CDL with Hazmat endorsement.

Qualifications

• High School or GED with auto mechanics coursework.
• One year experience in heavy construction equipment maintenance.
• Valid Class A or B CDL with Hazmat endorsement and a clean MVR.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform strenuous tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate pickup truck to pick up and deliver equipment parts and supplies.
• Assist mechanics with maintenance of automotive equipment and greasing.
• Maintain records of machines and services performed.
• Ensure safety and PPE compliance in the shop.
• Keep shop clean and secure at day end.
• Attend to regular and on-call duties as needed.
