Job summary

Hall County is seeking a Parks Maintenance Supervisor in Gainesville, GA. The role oversees daily and seasonal maintenance of parks and leisure facilities, including supervision of inmate crews and coordination of tool and inventory systems.

Responsibilities include operating light to medium construction equipment and performing carpentry, plumbing, and electrical tasks, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year related experience required.
• Valid Commercial Driver's License Class A and a clean MVR.
• POST Certification required to supervise inmates from Hall County Correctional Institution on off-site work details.
• Must have or obtain pesticide applicator’s license.
• Random drug testing due to safety-sensitive nature of the position.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and performs maintenance of parks and leisure facilities including fields and courts.
• Supervises, trains, and evaluates crews of inmates.
• Assists in developing and administering budget related to vehicles, equipment, grounds, and buildings.
• Develops a system for storing tools and supplies/materials to aid inventory.
• Operates and performs maintenance on light to medium construction equipment.
• Performs general maintenance carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work.
• Cleans parks and facilities including sweeping, mopping, trash removal, and cleaning bathrooms.
• Maintains grounds and recreational areas by mowing and pruning.
• Assists in construction and development of park grounds and facilities.
