A growing construction company is seeking a Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic to join their mobile crew. The role involves traveling throughout the western US for maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment. Ideal candidates will have 3-5 years of experience in diesel equipment repair, a Class A Commercial Driver’s License, and the ability to work independently. The Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic will be part of a mobile construction crew who will service the Western states where our crews are currently performing work. The Field Mechanic will perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on our Heavy and Diesel Equipment when and where it is necessary. Our Field Mechanic may be away for periods of 2-3 weeks at a time.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

• Travel in a Commercial maintenance truck to various jobsites throughout the western US.
• Repair and maintenance on specialized equipment such as oil distributor trucks, loaders/rollers, macropavers, pick-up trucks, and other various equipment.
• The right candidate will be a self-starter, self-motivated, punctual, organized, a hardworking individual with good mechanical skills.
• Will be required to work on hydraulics and electrical systems.
• Able to follow direction unsupervised and work well alone or in a team environment.
• This position will require travel to work on the equipment at various sites in the surrounding area and out of town and out of state work.
• Must be able to work all hours as needed, overtime and weekends.
• Visual inspections repair and preventative maintenance on all construction equipment.
• Works in the shop when needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Capability to travel to construction sites and be away for periods of 2-3 weeks at a time.

EDUCATIONS and/or WORK EXPERIENCE:

• Highschool diploma or equivalent.
• 3-5 years' experience in diesel truck and heavy equipment repair
