Job summary

LJ Inc. is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to maintain, diagnose, and repair a variety of construction, mining, and aggregates equipment.

You will work on diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and powertrain components, with opportunities for field service and detailed maintenance reporting. You should bring 3+ years of experience, a Diesel Technology background, and the ability to read manuals and schematics.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and heavy equipment components.
• Completion of a Diesel Technology program preferred.
• CDL A preferred; minimum CDL B required.
• Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and diagnostic codes.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment with changing priorities.
• You must provide your own basic tool.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment including excavators, loaders, dozers, cranes, skid steers, and other construction machinery.
• Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled service on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, braking systems, and powertrain components.
• Conduct equipment inspections to identify mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
• Utilize diagnostic software, tools, and manufacturer service manuals to accurately identify and resolve equipment failures.
• Occasionally perform field service repairs as needed to minimize project downtime.
• Complete detailed service reports and maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Maintain inventory of parts, tools, and supplies. Order parts and supplies when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with all safety policies and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
• Stay current on evolving heavy equipment technology and repair practices.
