Job summary

Fabick Cat is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to diagnose and repair Caterpillar equipment and related systems for customers and company-owned machines. You will perform mechanical, electrical, hydraulic troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and component repairs in a fast-paced shop or field setting.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of experience, strong diagnostic skills using laptops and gauges, and the ability to read manuals and schematics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade schooling preferred.
• 2–5 years of experience troubleshooting and repairing heavy equipment, Caterpillar preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret machine schematics and manuals; strong diagnostic skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose construction equipment repair needs and perform designated repairs.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and general machine upkeep.
• Disassemble and assemble components per manufacturer specs using tools.
• Read manuals, work orders, and research repair needs; order parts as needed.
• Load/unload equipment; comply with OSHA Safety rules; perform other duties as assigned.
