Job summary

Texas First Rentals in Richardson, TX is seeking an entry-level Heavy Equipment Technician to inspect, diagnose, and repair equipment following established procedures. You may work independently or with a team to meet customer needs and department goals.

We value basic mechanical aptitude, proficiency with hand and pneumatic tools, and the ability to read instructions and diagrams. Overtime may be required, and ongoing training paths are available.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must have basic mechanic hand and pneumatic tools (metric/standard).

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and diagnoses basic equipment malfunctions and failures
• Performs some disassembly and assembly of basic machine components to manufacturer’s specifications through the use of hand tools, pneumatic tools, and any specialized tooling
• Performs some rebuilding, repairing, reconditioning, and maintenance of equipment and components
• Demonstrates basic knowledge of estimating, planning, and controlling cost of repair jobs
• Completes parts orders and identifies parts for return
• Maintains all equipment and work areas – keeps in good, clean, and orderly condition
• Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
• Works overtime as required by workload and customers’ needs
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; e.g., ProTech Technician Training Paths
• Requires regular and punctual employee attendance
• Performs other duties as assigned
