Job summary

St. Lucie Battery & Tire is seeking a Heavy Duty Technician to inspect, maintain, and repair heavy-duty vehicles using computerized diagnostics and manual techniques.

You will document all work, perform comprehensive inspections, and run road tests to ensure repairs meet the required standards. The role requires strong communication, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety and quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Tire experience and/or commercial tire experience preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of diesel & gas engines, hydraulics, and electronics.
• Understanding of vehicle repair procedures, mechanical skills, and ability to lift heavy equipment.
• Strong customer service skills and effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and perform repairs with documentation for heavy-duty vehicles.
• Use multi-point inspection forms for each vehicle.
• Perform preventive and routine maintenance.
• Quality check repairs and road test vehicles after service.
• Communicate with service advisor about additional work or timelines.
• Utilize dollies, jacks, hoists, lifts and tools safely and ergonomically.
