Job summary

Saia is seeking a diesel mechanic to perform maintenance, repair, and diagnostics on heavy trucks at our Arizona location. You will inspect, diagnose, and repair systems, and coordinate with teammates to ensure safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Must have basic English reading/writing comprehension to perform tasks and communicate with team.
• 2 years of diesel mechanic experience preferred.
• Proficiency with diagnostic software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and repairs systems and parts on class 6–8 tractors.
• Diagnoses failures and repairs mechanical, electrical, and systems.
• Uses hydraulic jacks and retrieves components from under vehicles.
• Assists in engine, transmission, differential, and spring replacements.
• Troubleshoots engine, braking, electrical, and exhaust issues.
• Documents repairs, inspections, and maintenance tasks.
• Tests vehicles after repair to ensure proper operation.
