Job summary

Ten West Road Solutions is seeking a Heavy Duty Tow Operator to join our active team in California. The role requires driving under varied conditions, strong customer service, and excellent problem-solving abilities to handle diverse roadside scenarios.

The ideal candidate will have a Class A CDL, a clean driving record, and the ability to pass a DOT medical exam. Duties include towing heavy equipment, on-site repairs, and safe, proactive engagement with dispatch and customers.

Qualifications

• Must reside near assigned area to meet customer service time requirements.
• Ability to successfully pass DOT medical exam.
• Current and valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Class A CDL required; no automatics.
• Ability to bend, stoop, walk and stand for periods in all weather.
• Willing to take a drug test and background check.
• Proficient in using mobile and computer applications for administrative work.
• 1 year experience operating a Heavy Duty Tow Truck or hauling equipment preferred.
• Heavy Equipment operation skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Respond to calls in a safe, timely manner and provide roadside assistance.
• Communicate status and ETA to dispatch in a professional manner.
• Perform emergency road service duties including towing and scene support.
• Perform minor roadside repairs (excluding highways).
• Tow heavy duty vehicles: 18-wheelers, garbage trucks, dump trucks, cement trucks.
• Perform accident towing and scene cleanup.
• Conduct daily pre-shift inspections and maintain equipment inventory.
• Maintain a clean, organized storage yard and secure the yard when exiting.
• Report damaged or missing tools immediately.
• Adhere to safety rules, drive defensively, and follow the 4-second rule.
