Job summary

A leading transportation company in Indianapolis seeks a Heavy Duty - Tow Driver to safely transport medium and heavy duty trucks. The role requires a Class A Commercial Drivers License and 3 years of towing experience. Candidates must maintain a clean driving record and comply with DOT regulations. Qualifications

  • Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL).
  • 3 years experience in towing commercial trucks and equipment.
  • Must possess a current and valid driver license with a driving record that meets the insurability guidelines set forth by the company's insurance carrier.

  • Diagnose and perform basic repair tasks on disabled vehicles.

The Heavy Duty - Tow Driver transports medium and heavy duty trucks utilizing the supplied tow vehicle.

Responsibilities
  • Safely hook up and transport medium and heavy duty trucks utilizing the supplied equipment and towing vehicle.
  • Diagnose and perform basic repair tasks to disabled vehicle to allow for safe towing.
  • Have extensive understanding of a tow vehicles capabilities in relation to allowable weight, height, and length of the vehicles to be towed.
  • Maintain a safe driving history and comply with all Department of Transportation rules and regulations.
  • Maintain a current and valid Class A Commercial Drivers License with the appropriate endorsements.
  • Maintain a current and valid DOT medical card issued by a qualified medical provider.
