Job summary

C. Harper Auto Group is seeking an experienced Heavy Duty/Diesel Technician to join C. Harper Commercial Truck Center, a long-standing leader in heavy‑duty service with a family‑oriented environment.

You will diagnose, repair, and maintain Class 6–8 equipment, reading work orders, and delivering reliable service to customers in the Greater Pittsburgh and Tri‑State area. We offer industry-leading pay, comprehensive insurance, 401(k) with company match, paid time off after 90 days, short-term

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of diesel engines and diesel components.
• Experience with diesel engine diagnostic software and tools.
• Strong mechanical and electrical problem-solving skills.
• Keen attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Consulting with customers and reading work orders to determine repairs.
• Developing work plans based on diagnostic assessments.
• Running diagnostic tests and offering solutions for engine and system issues.
• Inspecting and repairing vehicle systems including suspensions, steering, and exhaust.
• Repairing or replacing transmissions, brakes, engines, and related components.
• Conducting field visits for emergency or breakdown service calls.
• Test driving vehicles to assess repair quality and performance.
• Performing regular maintenance tasks such as oil changes, wheel balancing, and brake inspections.
• Maintaining accurate records of parts inventory and serviced vehicles.
