Role Description

The Heavy Duty Mechanic role is a full-time, on-site position based in Lebanon, TN. This role is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy-duty trucks and equipment, including performing routine and preventative maintenance on vehicles and related systems. Day-to-day tasks include troubleshooting mechanical and minor electrical issues, completing work orders accurately, and following company and industry safety standards. The Heavy Duty Mechanic will use appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment, maintain a clean and organized work area, and communicate clearly with service advisors, supervisors, and customers about repair needs and timelines. The role may involve working varying shifts, handling emergency or roadside service calls, and supporting other team members as needed to ensure efficient shop operations.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in equipment maintenance and vehicle maintenance for heavy-duty trucks and related systems.
• Ability to perform equipment repair on heavy equipment, including engines, brakes, suspension, and driveline components.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical issues and diagnosing performance problems accurately and efficiently.
• Experience working with heavy equipment or commercial vehicles in a shop or roadside environment.
• Knowledge of safety procedures, tools, and equipment used in heavy-duty mechanical work.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, work orders, and diagnostic reports.
• Physical capability to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, and working in varied shop and outdoor conditions.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
• Relevant certifications, trade school training, or prior experience as a diesel or heavy-duty mechanic are preferred.
• Valid driver’s license; a commercial driver’s license (CDL) is a plus.
