Job summary

Ryder seeks an experienced Mid-Level Diesel Technician for its Hermon, Maine fleet. This permanent, full-time role offers a second shift (3:00 pm - 11:30 pm) with weekends off and a starting hourly pay of $26.50, plus incentives and benefits.

Eligible applicants may earn a CDL within 6 months and can participate in bonuses, paid training, and a 401(k) with company match. PTO accrues from day one and maternity leave is provided for eligible employees.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or Technical Certification, post secondary degree or technical certifications preferred.
• Basic tools, required.
• Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including routine maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance.
• Performs standard component inspections and repairs.
• Performs preventive maintenance.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools.
• Identifies root cause of basic failures and performs repairs.
• Replaces defective components as instructed.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint.
