Job summary

Ryder in Dracut, Massachusetts is hiring a Mid-Level Diesel Technician on the second shift with a schedule of Tuesday–Saturday and an hourly pay of $31.58 per hour. The role emphasizes heavy-duty diesel maintenance and repair of trucks and equipment using state-of-the-art diagnostics and tools provided.

Candidates should have at least two years of relevant experience and a CDL A (or the ability to obtain one within six months).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or Technical Certification preferred.
• Basic tools, required.
• Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience in required experience, preferred.
• Valid CDL CLASS A, preferred.
• Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire.
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test and DOT physical.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance.
• Performs standard component inspections and repairs.
• Performs preventive maintenance.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer when applicable.
• Identifies root cause of basic failures/conditions and performs repairs as required.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of the complaint.
