Waste Pro of Florida is seeking a Diesel Mechanic B (Heavy Duty Fleet Technician) in Pompano Beach, FL to diagnose, repair, and maintain a fleet of heavy-duty refuse trucks and support equipment, including diesel, gasoline, and CNG vehicles. Welding and light fabrication may be involved.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of suspension inspections, diagnostics, and repairs.
• Knowledge of brake system inspections, diagnostics, and repairs.
• Knowledge of electrical system inspections, diagnostics, and repairs.
• Knowledge of hydraulic system inspections, diagnostics, and repairs.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and interpreting service manuals.
• Ability to estimate labor time and materials (SRTs).
• Ability to assist and guide assistant technicians and shop helpers.
• Strong troubleshooting and safety commitment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical problems and repair heavy-duty and light-duty trucks.
• Review DVIRs and repair orders to complete repairs.
• Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, electrical, hydraulics, and related systems.
• Use vehicle diagnostic systems to identify failure modes and perform repairs.
• Follow Factory Service Manuals and manufacturer specifications.
• Conduct vehicle and equipment safety inspections.
• Communicate repair status and maintenance recommendations to managers/drivers.
• Complete repair orders and documentation accurately.
