Job summary

Waste Pro is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic A (Heavy Duty Fleet Technician) to join our Pembroke Pines maintenance team. You’ll diagnose, repair, and maintain a fleet of heavy‑duty diesel trucks using the latest diagnostic tools and OEM manuals.

This role offers stable, year‑round work with opportunities to advance to Lead Technician or Fleet Maintenance Manager. We provide a competitive pay rate of $35–$45 per hour, a $10,000 sign‑on bonus for qualified candidates, relocation

Qualifications

• CDL Class B license preferred, or ability to obtain one.
• Up to seven ASE certifications within 36 months of employment.
• 3–5 years of hands-on tech experience in maintenance/repair of medium- and heavy-duty Class 8 vehicles.
• Clear understanding of OSHA safety requirements for fleet maintenance.
• Ability to use computers for data tracking, maintenance software (Dossier), and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines, transmissions, drivetrains, brakes, steering, and more.
• Perform preventive maintenance, DOT inspections, and scheduled fleet maintenance.
• Use OEM diagnostics and onboard computer systems to identify and repair issues.
• Complete repairs per manufacturer specs and Waste Pro standards.
• Perform welding and metal repairs as needed.
• Mentor apprentices and junior technicians with knowledge sharing.
• Accurately complete repair orders and maintenance documentation.
