Job summary

Savard Personnel Group is seeking a Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic in Port Allen, LA to join our team. The role focuses on servicing heavy-duty diesel engines, diagnosing faults, and performing repairs on commercial trucks and fleet equipment.

You will work Monday to Friday, with some weekends as needed. Requirements include hands-on diesel experience, knowledge of Cummins and PACCAR engines, preventative maintenance, and the ability to document maintenance findings accurately.

Key Requirements

• Must have hands-on diesel mechanic experience, preferably working on heavy-duty commercial trucks or fleet equipment.
• Experience with Cummins and/or PACCAR diesel engines.
• Working knowledge of diesel engine diagnostics, troubleshooting, and mechanical repairs.
• Experience performing preventative maintenance and identifying potential equipment failures.
• Hands-on experience with PTO replacements, installations, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of DEF systems and diesel emissions aftertreatment systems.
• Ability to diagnose engine performance issues and determine appropriate repairs.
• Familiarity with diagnostic scan tools, mechanical tools, and equipment service manuals.
• Ability to inspect, maintain, and repair commercial vehicles and heavy-duty equipment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
• Ability to communicate repair findings and maintain accurate maintenance records.
