Savard Labor and Marine is seeking Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanics in Port Allen, LA. You will diagnose, repair and maintain heavy-duty diesel engines on commercial trucks and fleet equipment. The role emphasizes hands-on work, preventative maintenance, and accurate recordkeeping, with opportunities to work independently or on a maintenance team.

Qualifications

• Hands-on diesel mechanic experience with heavy-duty trucks or fleet equipment.
• Experience with Cummins and/or PACCAR engines.
• Knowledge of diesel engine diagnostics and repairs.
• Experience performing preventative maintenance and identifying potential failures.
• Experience with PTO replacements, installations, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of DEF systems and diesel aftertreatment.
• Ability to diagnose engine performance issues and communicate findings clearly.
• Familiarity with diagnostic scan tools and service manuals.

What You’ll Need

• Hands-on diesel mechanic experience, preferably with heavy-duty commercial trucks or fleet equipment
• Experience with Cummins and/or PACCAR diesel engines
• Knowledge of diesel engine diagnostics, troubleshooting, and mechanical repairs
• Experience performing preventative maintenance and identifying potential equipment failures
• Experience with PTO replacements, installations, and troubleshooting
• Knowledge of DEF systems and diesel emissions aftertreatment systems
• Ability to diagnose engine performance issues and determine appropriate repairs
